About Hemlock Music Festival

Hemlock Music Festival 2009 is a renewable resource. The more it is nourished by those willing to help, the more it can grow and help to serve others. The idea behind the festival goes beyond just good music. It is meant to bring people together. Our Ancestors have always come together to discuss how to further our way of life. That is why we see so many laws passed and retracted. That is how the Constitution was born. Now we feel it is our turn to help our children's children.

Last spring, the town of Enumclaw, Washington stood up to the Nestle corporation and denied an offer by the Swiss company to build a water bottling plant on the White River. With not even so much as a public hearing on the matter, one by one residents sent hundreds of e-mails and angry phone calls to their City Council in opposition of Nestle's proposal. The corporation has since packed up and left town. We have a lot to learn from the people of Enumclaw, population of about 11,000. They've taught us how citizens nowadays who believe in protecting natural resources can stand up for their cause.

Hemlock Music Festival has found its Niche within an already established Michigan Music Scene looking to serve its people. The musicians and volunteers involved are excited as well as nervous to see how this year's festival will work out. We want nothing more than to have you enjoy yourself for a weekend of relaxation, meditation, and music. The prices are low, the music is AWESOME, and the food is extra tasty.

A portion of this year's proceeds will be donated to the Save Owasippe organization and local food pantries.
